Most fluid application problems have a catalog answer. The ones that reach us usually don’t — an unusual material, an awkward geometry, a line speed nothing standard keeps up with, or a volume too low for a large manufacturer to bother engineering for.

Spraymation has been designing and building one-off industrial fluid dispensing systems since 1958. Not configured from modules, not adapted from an adjacent product — engineered for the application, then built, tested, and supported by the same team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. If you’ve been told your application isn’t worth a custom solution, we’d like to hear about it.

When You Need a Custom System

No standard equipment fits. The material, the substrate, or the geometry falls outside what catalog equipment handles.

The volume is too low for anyone else. Large manufacturers need a market before they’ll engineer. We don’t — a single machine for a single application is normal work here.

It has to integrate with what you already run. New equipment has to fit an existing line, existing controls, and an existing footprint.

The application doesn’t exist yet. You’re developing a product or a process and the application method has to be developed alongside it.

Standard equipment worked, and then the process changed. Line speeds increased, the formulation changed, or a specification tightened, and what used to work no longer holds.

How Custom Engineering Works Here

Application review.

Tell us the fluid, the substrate, the placement requirement, the line speed, and what’s failing today. Our engineers have almost certainly seen something adjacent — nearly seven decades of unusual applications builds a deep reference library.

Method selection.

We recommend the application technology that fits, not the one we’d most like to sell. Sometimes that recommendation is that you don’t need a custom system at all.

Testing and iteration.

Difficult applications get tested before anything is built. Where the material behavior is uncertain, we iterate until the result is repeatable — not until it works once.

Design and build.​

Design, fabrication, assembly, and testing all happen under one roof in Fort Lauderdale. Nothing is subcontracted to a vendor who doesn’t answer your call later.

Integration and commissioning.

The system is installed into your line and proven at your conditions. We can commission on-site or support your team remotely — whichever fits your timeline and location.

Support for the life of the equipment.

Spare parts, consumables, remote technical support, and factory rebuilds — for decades. We still support systems built forty years ago.

We build precision fluid dispensing systems around the constraints that make an application difficult — the fluid, the method, the environment, and the line it has to fit into.

 

Any fluid. Adhesives, sealants, waxes, silicones, oils, lubricants, release agents, surfactants, coatings, dyes, and materials that don’t fall into a category. Send the technical data sheet.

 

Any application method. Air atomizing, airless, air-dispersed, extrusion, slot coating, or non-contact — chosen for the application rather than for what we have in stock.

 

Any environment. Washdown and sanitary environments, cleanroom, and high-temperature applications are all within our custom-build capability. For hazardous and explosion-proof locations, our panel machines carry NRTL Class I Division I certification — and as we move to modular panel designs, NRTL certification is becoming standard on every panel machine we ship.

 

Any integration requirement. Existing line controls, encoders, PLCs, and inspection systems.

Will you build a single machine?

Yes. One-off systems for a single application are normal work here, not an exception we make reluctantly.

Typically 8–10 weeks, depending on the application. We’ll give you a firm timeline once we’ve reviewed the fluid, the substrate, and your line conditions.

It depends entirely on the application. What we can say is that custom engineering usually costs less than the alternatives customers have already priced — a standard system that doesn’t quite work, or continuing with a manual process that wastes material and labor indefinitely.

No. Most customers arrive knowing the material and the problem, not the method. Selecting the method is our job.

We’ll say so. Often the answer is standard Electromatic™ applicator heads and the right controls, which is faster and cheaper for you.
