Conventional industrial spray nozzles and automatic spray applicators fail in predictable ways. Dynamic seals wear and leak. Packings degrade and require rebuilds. The Electromatic™ design eliminates all of them. Sixty-plus years ago, Spraymation’s first product introduced an applicator head with only one moving part and zero dynamic seals. The patented design has been continuously refined since — but the core principles remain: an integral solenoid coil provides the actuation force without requiring external valves or air pressure; straight-line fluid flow with no trapped areas keeps material moving and on-spec; all wetted parts are stainless steel; and the entire fluid section can be removed and replaced as a single unit in seconds without removing the gun from the line.

For applications requiring high viscosity material, high volume dispensing, or hazardous location operation, the same proven Electromatic™ seat-and-needle geometry is available in a complete series of pneumatically operated heads — built with the same precision and exclusive design as the standard solenoid-actuated applicators.

Electromatic™ X & XV Full-Size Applicators

Full-size heated extrusion and airless spray applicators for hot or cold adhesives, marking fluids, perfumes, silicones, and similar materials. Heated to 450°F with built-in circular heating elements and RTD temperature sensing for accurate thermal control. Suitable for use with extrusion nozzles for dots and lines or spray nozzles for atomized patterns. Used with either pressure tanks or pumping systems depending on viscosity. The complete fluid section replaces as a unit without removing the gun from the line.

A smaller, lighter, lower-cost full-size alternative for cold fluids — the same proven Electromatic™ performance in a more compact form factor. Handles low to medium viscosities up to 6,000 cPs at operating pressures under 2,000 PSI, ideal for reciprocating or moving-applicator installations. Models 99201 (flat-back tips) and 99221 (3/8-24 screw-on tips) provide configuration flexibility, with ½-20 JIC fluid inlet compatible with standard Spraymation hoses.

Pneumatically operated Electromatic™ applicator heads for high-flow, high-viscosity, high-pressure, and hazardous-location applications. Available with 0.25″ orifices for highest flow rates at pressures up to 5,000 PSI (340 bar), and intermediate 0.125″ orifice variants up to 3,000 PSI (200 bar). Air-operated extrusion applicators with 0.03″ or 0.05″ orifices handle up to 2,500 PSI (170 bar) and are commonly used in explosion-hazard environments dispensing flammable fluids. The integral solenoid coil in standard Electromatic™ applicators provides instantaneous high-speed response, with millisecond repeatability suitable for the fastest high-speed production lines. Used with a Spraymation 3480 Pattern Controller, the system delivers 0.1 millisecond timing resolution — fast enough for any production environment we’ve encountered. For pneumatically operated high-volume variants, response is also extremely fast with the same dripless positive shut-off characteristics.

Yes. Air-operated Electromatic™ applicator variants are commonly used in environments dispensing flammable fluids where an explosion hazard may be present, with operating pressures up to 5,000 PSI and air-operated extrusion configurations specifically designed for explosion-hazard applications.
