Holding tolerance once is a demonstration. Holding it for four hundred hours is a precision dispensing system.
Most equipment can hit a target volume under ideal conditions. The question that matters in regulated and validated manufacturing is different: how much does the dispensed volume drift over a production run, across temperature changes, as seals wear and viscosity shifts?
Spraymation builds precision fluid dispensing equipment engineered around that second question. Minimal variation over hundreds of continuous operating hours is the specification our medical device, coatings laboratory, and regulated manufacturing customers hold us to — and it’s why, once a Spraymation system is validated into a process, it tends to stay there for decades.
Precision isn’t one component. It’s the absence of drift anywhere in the system, and it fails at whichever point is weakest.
Stable metering. Volume is set by the pump and the timing, so pulsation, slip, and pressure variation all show up directly in the dispensed amount.
Temperature control. Viscosity moves with temperature and volume moves with viscosity. In heated applications, thermal stability across the whole fluid path is a dimensional requirement, not a comfort setting.
Positive, repeatable cut-off. A shot that doesn’t terminate identically every cycle isn’t a precise shot, however accurate the metering upstream.
Mechanical repeatability. Mounting, standoff, and alignment that hold position through thermal cycling and vibration.
Materials that don’t degrade. Wetted components that resist the fluid over years, because a seal that swells slightly changes the volume long before it fails visibly.
Where Precision Dispensing Matters Most
Converting a manual application step is a smaller project than most people expect, and it usually doesn't require replacing the line.
[01]
Medical devices.
Silicone lubrication of syringe barrels, catheter coatings, and implant surface treatments, where dispensed volume is a validated product characteristic.
Metered placement onto assemblies where volume tolerance determines yield.
[04]
Regulated food production.
Applications where add-on rate is a specification rather than a preference.
[05]
Nonwovens and hygiene.
Low add-on treatments where a small percentage variation changes measured product performance.
Why Spraymation
Repeatability is what we're bought for.
In regulated environments, switching suppliers means requalifying a validated process — expensive enough that customers only do it when equipment stops performing. Ours generally doesn’t, which is why our relationships run for decades.
Precision built, not selected.
Applicators, controls, and fluid handling are engineered together and manufactured under one roof in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Custom engineering when tolerance demands it.
If holding your specification requires something that doesn’t exist yet, that’s the work we do.
Documented quality processes, including for one-off builds.
Equipment that lasts decades.
Spraymation systems are still in validated production service 40 years after installation.
Support that protects your validation.
Spare parts, consumables, remote technical support, and factory rebuilds — so maintaining a validated process doesn’t require replacing the equipment it was validated on.
A Fortune 100 tissue manufacturer needed consistent adhesive across three application points running simultaneously at over 2,000 ft/min. Spraymation’s unified multi-station system cut adhesive consumption 40%, delivered a 99.7% tail-seal first-pass rate, and paid back in under a year.
Pre-Filled Syringe Siliconizing: Medical Device Manufacturer
A medical device manufacturer couldn’t validate its siliconization process for GMP, with coating-weight variability above 25% and recurring glide-force failures. Spraymation’s Electromatic™ 29 system cut variability to below 8% CV, reduced silicone use 35%, and reached 0.25 mg dispensing precision.
A major OSB manufacturer’s drip bars over-applied wax and fouled the blender drum, and catalog nozzles couldn’t handle the high-viscosity emulsion. Spraymation’s custom air-atomizing spray headers cut wax consumption 30%, shortened the press cycle 15%, and saved over $150,000 a year.
How do you maintain precision over a long production run?
By removing the sources of drift rather than compensating for them — stable metering, thermal control across the entire fluid path, positive cut-off, and wetted materials that don’t change dimension as they age.
Does viscosity change affect dispensed volume?
Yes, in any system — which is why temperature control across the whole fluid path matters as much as the metering. Where a fluid’s viscosity is temperature-sensitive, thermal stability is what makes precision achievable.
Can I retrofit precision dispensing onto existing equipment?
Often, yes. Electromatic™ heads and precision controls integrate into equipment already in service.
