HOT MELT ADHESIVE SYSTEMS

Hot melt adhesive dispensing systems engineered for speed, precision, and decades of uptime.

Spraymation hot melt adhesive systems combine our patented Electromatic™ applicator technology with the Thermopulse™ adhesive delivery platform to give manufacturers the cleanest, fastest, and most repeatable hot melt application available. Whether you’re sealing thousands of cases per shift, bonding multi-ply tissue at full web speed, or assembling a precision-engineered product, our hot melt adhesive equipment dispenses exactly the right amount in exactly the right place — every cycle, every shift, for decades.

The Problem

Built for the realities of high-speed hot melt production.

Hot melt adhesive coating is unforgiving. Char from overheated glue clogs nozzles. Stringing and drool contaminate products and create rework. Inconsistent pattern placement creates bond failures downstream. And every minute of downtime to clear a clogged head or rebuild a worn gun costs real money.

Spraymation hot melt adhesive dispensing systems are engineered specifically to eliminate these problems. The Electromatic™ applicator head at the heart of every system has only one moving part, no dynamic seals to degrade, and a positive shut-off design that is completely dripless no matter how high the speed of actuation. Built-in circular heating elements maintain uniform fluid temperature up to 450°F, while RTD sensors deliver the close temperature control that prevents adhesive char and viscosity drift. Straight-line fluid flow with no trapped areas keeps adhesive moving, fresh, and on-spec.

The result is hot melt adhesive equipment that runs longer between maintenance intervals, dispenses with the kind of repeatability that high-speed converting demands, and stays in service for decades rather than years.

No char buildup.

RTD-controlled circular heating elements deliver uniform temperature with no hot spots where glue degrades.

No stringing or drool.

Patented seat-and-needle geometry delivers positive shut-off — dripless even at the highest cycle speeds.

No bond failures.

0.1 ms timing resolution and millisecond actuation repeatability place adhesive exactly where it belongs.

No seal rebuilds.

One moving part, no dynamic seals, no packings. Fluid section replaces as a complete unit in seconds.

WHY SPRAYMATION

Six reasons our hot melt equipment outlasts the rest.

01

Dripless positive shut-off, every cycle.

The patented Electromatic™ seat-and-needle geometry eliminates the stringing, drool, and contamination that plague conventional hot melt adhesive guns.

02

One moving part, no dynamic seals.

Less to wear, less to maintain, less to fail. Fluid sections can be removed and replaced as a complete unit in seconds, without taking the gun off the line.

03

Built-in solenoid actuation.

No external air valves required for the Electromatic™ X series — the integral solenoid coil provides instantaneous, high-speed response and millisecond repeatability for the fastest production environments.

04

Uniform 450°F heating with RTD control.

Circular heating elements deliver even temperature across the entire fluid path, while platinum RTD sensors maintain accuracy that prevents adhesive degradation.

05

All-stainless-steel wetted parts.

Built for the chemical aggressiveness of modern hot melt formulations and decades of continuous service.

06

ISO 9001:2015 certified.

With CE declarations and Low Voltage Directive compliance available for European installations.

FAQ

Common questions about hot melt dispensing systems.

Quick answers to the questions we get most often about Spraymation hot melt adhesive equipment, Thermopulse™ systems, and Electromatic™ applicator integration.

Don’t see your question? Our engineering team responds within one business day.

What's the difference between a Spraymation hot melt adhesive gun and a generic hot melt adhesive applicator?

The Electromatic™ applicator at the core of every Spraymation hot melt adhesive gun uses a patented design with only one moving part, no dynamic seals, and a positive dripless shut-off. Generic hot melt adhesive applicators typically rely on packings, seals, and external air-operated valves that wear, leak, and require frequent rebuilds. Our design eliminates the most common failure modes in hot melt dispensing — stringing, drool, char buildup, and seal degradation — which is why Spraymation hot melt adhesive equipment routinely stays in production for decades.

Standard heated Electromatic™ applicators are rated to 450°F with built-in circular heating elements and RTD temperature sensing for precise control. Viscosity capability depends on the specific applicator configuration — the Electromatic™ X and XV series handle the broad range of standard hot melt adhesives, sealants, and waxes, while air-operated high-volume variants are available for higher-viscosity or higher-flow applications at pressures up to 5,000 PSI.

Yes. Used with appropriate extrusion or spray nozzles and a Spraymation 3480 Pattern Controller or 3400 Series DC Timer, Electromatic™ applicators place dots, continuous lines, interrupted lines, multiple parallel lines, swirl patterns, or wide bands with extreme accuracy. The integral solenoid coil in our heated applicators provides instantaneous response and the kind of repeatability that high-speed converting requires, with 0.1 millisecond timing resolution from our pattern controllers.

Thermopulse™ is Spraymation’s hot melt adhesive application system platform — the integrated fluid delivery, heating, and control architecture that powers our hot melt adhesive dispensing systems. Our Electromatic™ XXXI handgun and other hot melt applicators are designed for direct use with Thermopulse™ systems, and our handgun can also serve as a replacement applicator for existing hot melt systems already in service from other manufacturers.

Yes — custom hot melt adhesive equipment is a core part of what we do. We routinely build multi-head manifolds with specified or adjustable center distances for wide-web applications, applicators with extensions for confined-area access, air-operated explosion-proof configurations for flammable adhesive environments, and one-of-a-kind systems for applications other manufacturers won’t take on. Send us your line speed, web width, adhesive specifications, and pattern requirements and our engineering team will recommend a configuration.

The Electromatic™ design dramatically simplifies maintenance — the entire fluid section can be removed and replaced as a unit in seconds without taking the gun off the line, and there are no packings or dynamic seals to degrade and replace. We maintain an extensive inventory of spare parts and supplies, offer factory rebuild and gun exchange programs, and provide remote technical support by phone, email, and Zoom, with on-site service available when needed.

In most cases, yes. The 3480 Pattern Controller and 3400 Series DC Timers accept inputs from passive contacts, DC voltage signals, photocells, and open collectors, which covers the vast majority of production line control architectures. For specialized control integration, our engineering team can design custom control packages, including stainless steel enclosures and DIN-format temperature controllers.

Air-operated variants of our hot melt adhesive applicators are commonly used in environments dispensing flammable fluids where an explosion hazard may be present. For paint and coatings applications, our Compuspray™ panel machines are available in NRTL-certified configurations. Contact our engineering team with your hazardous location classification and we’ll confirm the appropriate applicator and control configuration for your installation.
